1. How does AO benefit vacation rental owners and property managers?

Did you know your vacay rental guests spend an estimated $35 billion per year in the local economy (cafes, restaurants, tours, spas, etc…) when they stay at rentals? What if you could earn a commission each time they make a purchase? That’s why we built AO! To help redirect some of your guests’ purchasing power back into your pocket!

2. Besides making more money, what else can AO do for owners?

We’ve also integrated many smart home appliances into our Guest Welcome Screen, allowing your guests a central destination to control many smart home features including wifi password gating, climate control, lighting, locks, and voice concierge systems. Our platform is built on the latest AI technology to give owners and their guests unified control of smart home capabilities. 3. How difficult is AO to use?

After signing up on our website, our easy to use interface allows anyone to easily setup and generate commissions from each rental. It's as easy as turning your TV on and opening our app and generating commissions from each rental. We’ve made the process dead simple for owners and property managers!

4. Do I need to have a Smart TV and wifi to use AO?

Having a smart TV and wifi is the optimal guest experience, but is not required to get started. We also generate QR codes and instructions for guests to login in via mobile devices even if you don’t have a Smart TV and wifi. The guests must have a data plan on their phone if wifi is not present to access the AO network.

5. How much can I make from AO’s in home ad network?

Each rental is different. But taking the average local spend of your guests in a metropolitan area ($100) x 3 persons per stay x 4 day average stay x average 80 stays per year, your guests could be spending up to $100,000 per year with local merchants. Commissions depend upon the value of services and goods purchased by your guest. Assuming you get an average of 20% of commission for their spending, that’s up to $20,000 annually that owners can make. That's more than enough to pay for property taxes, maintenance, and a nice dinner! Of course in our economy, we realize anything helps owners, especially when it’s dead simple to use.

6. How do I track my commissions and when are they paid?

You can log in to the Owner dashboard to see how much commissions you have earned at any time. Once the minimum threshold payout limit ($100) is reached, AO will pay out accrued commissions on a monthly basis.

7. What kind of offers are shown to my guests?

These aren’t spammy and cheesy offers shown to guests. We negotiate and hand pick each offer carefully and provide guests with the best value on the things they care most about. Offer categories include local food / grocery, tours and activities, spa services, entertainment venues, retail goods, car rentals, and trip related insurance.

8. Does AO work with Airbnbs rentals?

Yes! We built AO with Airbnb hosts in mind and works alongside your normal Airbnb / vacay rental process. We even pull in Airbnb experiences as offers if they exist in your location. We work with any vacation rental listing whether it’s a VRBO, Trip Advisor Rental, Marriott Homes, Expedia, whatever!

9. How much does AO cost?

AO is currently allowing free access to the platform for a limited time. After the complimentary trial period, a monthly fee of will be charged to owners.

10. What is the notice period to cancel AdOcto advertising for the next month?

You must update your account settings within the AdOcto software by 11:59 PM on the 14th of the month prior to cancellation.

11. How do I sign up?

Go to Host Sign up and sign up to part of our owner network! Property managers can also sign up for a master account and manage multiple properties in our network.

For Advertisers:

1. What kind of audience does AO reach?

AO reaches guests who are traveling for business or pleasure at local vacation rentals by showing them relevant offers in the surrounding economy. After checking in, these guests are “in market” with an “intent to purchase” local services and goods. They are typically looking for offers and recommendations from local merchants: Where should I eat tonight? What spa services are available? Where can I book a round of golf? What local shows are playing tonight? By combining the reputation of trusted hosts with incredible offers, we can show them compelling deals to generate foot traffic into your storefront!

2. How big is AO’s network?

There are over 5 million vacay rental owners worldwide, representing more than 8 million listings. There are now more vacay rental units worldwide than the entire hotel industry combined. Over $35 billion was spent by visitors in the local economy last year alone. AO aims to create a unified experience for owners and renters in this vast and untapped market.

3. How do guests redeem offers?

Redemption is simple and easy for you and your customers! After scanning a QR code for the offer, we text a unique QR code to the guest. They take that QR code into your store and show it to you for redemption. All you need is a mobile device to scan the QR code which lets AO know the offer was redeemed successfully by your customer.

4. How do I create offers and track redemptions?

After signing up, you can simply login to your advertiser dashboard to see who and how many have redeemed the offer. You can also create custom offers for customers in the dashboard.

5. How much does advertising on AO cost and is it expensive?

See our pricing here. Our pricing is comparable to pay per click advertising on Google (approximately $2 - $4 per click), but we drive actual foot traffic into your store instead of just clicks. Please contact our sales team at [email protected] to get a custom advertising quote.

6. How can we list my product or services?

Signing up is easy. We’ll evaluate your needs and our sales representatives will reach out to you to get started.

7. Do I need to create my own ad?

Standard display ad dimensions are acceptable so you can use the same ads you use for online banner advertising. Of course, video ads are preferred by guests and we accept all formats in normal 16:9 dimensions. If you do not have any current ads in the necessary format, our design team can create them for you for a nominal creative fee. For Guests:

1. How do I redeem an offer?

Simply aim your phone at the QR code listed on the offer. This will request you to sign up with your phone number, whereby you will receive a text from us to verify that it’s you. We will then provide you with a unique redemption code to show merchant. Visit the merchant and have them scan the redemption code and you will receive the offer!

2. Do I need to be a renter to take advantage of the offer?

No, you can share the offer with anyone you think whom may be interested! AO’s offers are open to the public and not exclusive to renters.

3. What if my unit doesn’t have a TV?

No problem! All participating rental units will have a QR code to scan to access the same offers on a mobile device like an iPad or iPhone.

4. How do I access the smart control devices from the TV?

If the owner has enabled smart features, just follow the easy steps to adjust temperature, lighting, etc.

5. How do I get a refund?

Please contact the merchant for return policy and process.
